Application Procedures for International Applicants

  1. Apply to the Graduate School on-line at https://application.uark.edu/.
  2. Submit a USD $60 application fee. Fee must be drawn on a U.S. bank OR may be paid by credit card on-line.
  3. Immediately after applying through the Graduate School, complete the Notification of Application for an MS in Agricultural Economics and submit electronically.
  4. Submit to the International Admissions office two copies of officially certified translated and un-translated academic records or mark-sheets with degree confirmation. We need at least 3.5 years or seven semesters of coursework of a four year program to complete a credential evaluation.
  5. Submit to the International Admissions office a photocopy of the name page in your passport. It is critical that your name in our records match your passport exactly. You may send a photocopy of your national ID card if you have not yet obtained a passport.
  6. Submit to the International Admissions office the official IELTS or TOEFL score.   Our institution code for the IELTS is 232 and 6866 for the TOEFL.  Unless you have completed a master’s degree from an accredited university in the U.S., we still require TOEFL or IELTS scores.
  7. Submit to the International Admissions office the Summary of Educational Experience Form.
  8. Submit to the International Admissions office the Supplemental and Financial Information Form.

  10. Complete a resume or CV listing experience, education, extracurricular activities and scholastic honors.
  11. Ask three (3) people to complete letters of reference for you one of three ways:    
    • Alternatively, if you choose to send the reference forms directly to us, have your references seal the form in an envelope and sign across the seal
    • Follow instructions you receive over email (once you’ve applied) from the graduate school regarding the on-line letter of reference system.
  12. Take the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) and have official scores for the entire exam sent directly to the University of Arkansas - Fayetteville. The UA-Fayetteville address code is 6866. Department Code is 0101. Information about the GRE can be found under the Test heading at: http://www.ets.org/
  13. If you are seeking a research or teaching assistantship, two additional procedures are required to be mailed to the Graduate Program Coordinator:    
    • Provide a one to two page essay (single spaced) that describes your “Statement of Academic Purpose” that includes:        
      • Why you have chosen our program
      • What you hope to accomplish while in graduate school
      • What your expected plans are after graduation
      • Why you should be considered for the assistantship
